MM Milano's collaboration with local community weavers from the Philippines

To bring our concept of sustainability to life we focus on the use of natural organic fabrics that are hand-woven by small groups of Philippine local weavers and are combined with new or recycled sustainable & innovative materials from Europe. All this makes every dress and suit of our collections a high quality and very unique piece of fashion.

Every single dress and suit of our MM Celestial and MM Evocative Collection is made to tell its own individual story, and are highly influenced by Philippine cultural heritages like the National Flower “Sampaguita”. Our High Fashion attracts attention with its traditional Philippine patterns and its colorful and modern designs.

The work with our local weavers from the Philippines is very enriching as we got to know new sustainable materials like the famous Hablon and Pineapple Silk fabrics.

Further, the passion of our partners for their incredible work and the high quality of their materials are impressing, as is their environmentally friendly approach by e.g. using natural dyeing methods with vibrant colors derived from coconut husk or mahogany trees.

We look forward to working with these artisans and try to support them whenever possible, e.g. by allowing them to participate in workshops and seminars around organic farming - always with a lot of fun!
